the world's tallest bridge

Mexican President Felipe Calderon inaugurated the world's tallest bridge. Baluarte bridge has a height of 403 meters is standing on a cliff in the mountains in the Sierra Madre, northern Mexico.
This pathway is part of a new highway through the area reefs in Mexico, from Mazatlan to Durango is located in the interior. "The project will unite the people residing in the northern part of Mexico," Calderon said in his inauguration.
Officials from the Guinness World of Records give an award to the highest Calderon for the construction of this bridge.
The opening of the bridge has a length of 1124 meters is part of the 200-year anniversary of independence of Mexico, which previously occupied Spain.
Mexicans hope will boost the construction of this bridge and the tourist trade in the region.
Mazatlan-Durango highway will replace a dangerous path, known as "devils backbone", across the mountains in the Sierra Madre.

The Mexican government also plans to build eight other bridges with heights above 300 meters, and also more than 60 tunnels.

Officials say construction will reduce travel time from Mazatlan and Durango, about six hours.

Baluarte is a modern bridge that connects the Pacific and Atlantic coast.

The bridge is also very high-higher than the Eiffel Tower in France.

Baluarte bridge height is the highest bridge to beat the record previously held by the Millau Viaduct in France, which has a height of 343 meters.
